The Victoria University of Wellington Foundation commissioned busts of its members to help promote their focus on assisting developing technologies within the University.

The members were 3d scanned with the artec EVA. The busts were 3d printed in brass through 3d printing service Shapeways.com.

The goal of the project was to elevate the 3d scanned portrait from a simple gimmick to a more  and high value piece of memorabilia by printing in prestigious materials.

The members were scanned in a single pass to capture just the face. This left a lot of digital noise toward the back of the head that was left when the model was processed for printing to act as an indicator of the digital nature of the processes that were used.
